Models and subcircuits
Use .model cards for diodes, BJTs, MOSFETs, JFETs, power MOSFETs and switches, their limits, and vendor .subckt macromodels.
.model
Write a model card in the analysis bar or paste it with an imported netlist, then set a part's model name to use it. Parentheses and + continuation lines are accepted, and names are not case sensitive.
.model D1N4148 D(IS=2.52n N=1.752 RS=0.568 CJO=4p) .model MYNMOS NMOS(LEVEL=1 VTO=1.8 KP=0.1)
| Type | Device |
|---|---|
D, ZENER, SCHOTTKY | Diodes |
NPN, PNP | BJTs, Ebers-Moll with Early voltage |
NMOS, PMOS | MOSFETs, level 1 only |
NJF, PJF | JFETs |
VDMOS | Power MOSFETs |
SW, CSW | Voltage and current controlled switches |
MOSFET cards with any level other than 1 are rejected with an error rather than being read as level 1, because their parameters mean different things and would give confident but wrong results. BSIM, EKV and foundry models are not supported.
Subcircuits
Vendor macromodels shipped as .subckt blocks can be pasted in and used through a subcircuit part. Parameters (params:), .param, .func, behavioural sources, and VALUE, TABLE and POLY controlled sources are supported, as are .model lines inside the block and nested subcircuits.
Encrypted vendor models are detected and refused, because they cannot be simulated and would otherwise run as an open circuit.
